“Many hands make light work”
Several times each year, along with a dedicated group of volunteers from Neighborhood UU Church in Pasadena, Wendy works with Esperanza International building homes for under-served families in the greater Tijuana area.
Using readily available building materials, our volunteers work alongside local families to build safe and sustainable homes. Esperanza's staff works in partnership with communities through self-help principles. Community leaders manage all phases of the project, from financing and ordering materials to making the concrete blocks from which their new homes will be constructed.
Since 2002, we have sent hundreds of volunteers to participate in this life changing and life affirming work. We are honored to work with this organization and are looking forward to the next time we can be together.
